Many music artists in and around Southampton rely on us being there and we really want to be able to continue providing our services long into the future, plus start running our exciting new projects we have been working hard to organise for the local community.
The policy of River Studios is to adopt the procedures and advice by Public Health England, the NHS and the UK Department of Education.
To protect our community from the coronavirus pandemic as we resume activities, we will enact the following hygiene and social distancing guidelines in the studio:
– All staff members and clients are required to report to the River IF they have been in contact with someone with Covid-19 or have developed symptoms. This allows us to ‘contact trace’ and disinfect appropriately.
– Staff and clients are asked to regularly wash hands to the government guidelines.
– Some vocal sessions can be conducted with no direct contact between engineer/teacher and client (where possible). Monitoring and discussions can happen between vocal booth and the control room through the talk back system.
– Regular use of personal hand sanitizers are a necessary requirement and are provided in every room.
– Cleaning wipes are provided by the studio in each room.
– The communal parts of the studio are cleansed
– The studio is thoroughly cleaned throughout the week.
– Engineers and teachers are to clean contact surfaces between sessions including but not limited to the microphone and stand, instruments, piano keyboard, pop-shield and headphones.
– We encourage clients to bring their own headphones and pop-shields.
– Engineers use disinfecting spray on microphones and pop-shields before and after studio sessions.
– Clients to be offered disposable microphone protective covers, which are resistant to moisture and have improved durability and hygiene force. The cover will protect the microphones from dust, dirt, bacteria, pollution and impurities.
– Our studio also has Dyson air blade hand dryers which are proven to reduce the transfer of bacteria on hands by up to 40%. University of Westminster tested JAD [Airblade] and found it is ‘the most hygienic hand dryer’. To access the study, please click here.
– We encourage everyone to be sensible and follow and remain up to date with the recent government guidelines.
