Southampton Home Education Music at River Studios has been developed from our current work engaging with the local community, offering families from the Southampton and Hampshire areas who home educate their children the opportunity to learn and experience music making in a safe and creative environment.

Southampton Home Educated Music Group
Workshops run weekly on Thursdays and Fridays
Thursdays
SYIMN Music Youth Project 1pm to 4pm is for children and young adults 12 and over.
Fridays
The Fridays are for Children 12 and under. Children pick their choices to focus on each term, they can do production the whole time 2-4pm or for an hour and then something else. If not interested in drums or just want to attend 1 club; parents can pick them up and go accordingly.
We provide music making activities, including learning on singing, drums, guitar, piano as well as creative song-writing, production and recording in group settings.
Participants will be encouraged to create original songs, write lyrics and melodies, developing creative/technical skills in the instrument of their choice.
At the end of each term, we proudly present a showcase in our venue, The Attic, for all parents, guardians, family and friends to come and see the incredible accomplishments our talented students make throughout the term. The showcase includes students performing on stage, any musical pieces they have learnt in our sessions. This includes singing, drums, piano, guitar, original songs, music production and band/group performances.
The showcases are a celebration of dedication, creativity and passion as the children proudly present their hard work!
